DMV Online Business Surged in 2012

Californians conducted more than 11.9 million online transactions during 2012, a 6% increase over 2011, the California Department of Motor Vehicles announced. Every online business transaction category increased in 2012 from the previous year.

Online vehicle registration, easily the most popular online transaction proved extremely popular, with over 7.6 million registrations conducted online in 2012. Online driver license renewals also proved very popular with over 640K completed online in 2012.
