Updated Drunk Driving Laws

Drunk driving continues to be a focus for many states each year. While some states continue addressing the issue by increasing DUI check points, other states have focused on passing laws that utilize technology.
On July 1, 2012, Virginia became the 15th state to pass legislation requiring first-time DUI offenders to install an ignition interlock in their vehicle to prevent them from driving while impaired. Ignition interlock laws are seen by government as an important step toward eliminating drunk driving.
