Distracted Driving Laws

You may not be familiar with “distracted driving laws”, but chances are, your state has passed legislation recently that deals with the relatively recent issue. What exactly is distracted driving? It is the term states have chosen to address the problem of rising automobile accidents due to drivers talking on the cell phone or texting.
Some states have banned cell phone use entirely, others have banned any cell phone use without a hands-free device, and other states still allow cell phone use in a car, but do not allow texting. Many states have passed laws that prevent any driver under the age of 18 from using a cell phone while driving.
