My daughter is a 15 year freshman currently enrolled in the Driver's Ed program through Hillsborough County Schools. She had taken the written portion of the exam in class and was "told" that all she needed to do was go to the DMV Office and have her picture taken to get her "learner's permit" - was she surprised when we went to the DMV and had to retake the written exam. (She had completed it in class 3-4 weeks prior) so needless to say she didn't study before going to the DMV that day. She attempted the exam twice and failed both times. "Yes, your cheat sheets were a help. Course I read and re-read every thing else I could lay my hands on, including the current DMV Manual. I missed one question and I could not find the subject matter in the DMV study material and it wasn't in your cheat sheets either. It's probably in one of them some where but I couldn't find it. The question was about when it was legal to make a "U" Turn in a business district. The answer was never. I couldn't even find anyone who was responsible for the definition of a business district. I eventually "assumed" each individual City decided where the boundaries of their business district was. This was important because the "U" turn was illegal at any intersection within a business district, marked or not. It would be a big assist for you to research this one. Thanks for your help... "

Dad had to renew his license before his 80th birthday and he was struggling with that 50 page DMV handbook. "Dear Josh, Yes, thank you, the Cheat Sheets did help me. I only missed one on my test and wouldn't have missed that one if I had read the question more carefully! Or, if I had just checked my answers. I felt very confident and not nervous when I went to take the test. I had an interesting experience when I was ready to go to the DMV office. As an apartment dweller I no longer have a garage to park in. I went out to the car and found it covered with about a1/4 inch of ice. I had to spray the car with water in order to melt the ice. The sprayer was not on tightly and my entire right side was sprayed with cold water. I had an appointment in twenty minutes so there was nothing to do but go, wet as I was.
